My name is Zhao Zhengrong, born in Tengzhou City, Shandong Province, China—the hometown of the philosopher Mozi, who advocated “universal love and non-aggression.” In 1987, when I was 11 years old, I left my hometown to attend the Shaolin Temple Tagou Martial Arts School in Henan, China, where I began learning traditional Chinese martial arts. Subsequently, I came to the Beijing Military Region Qigong Research Institute to systematically study Chinese Taoist medical qigong, and began 12 years of meditation and traditional medicine clinical healing training. At the same time, I participated in a 9-year multi-phase international medical qigong exchange program, engaging deeply with scholars and practitioners from around the world. This journey laid a solid and profound foundation for my later path into mind-body healing.
In 2013, my family and I decided to bring our children to live in India, exploring this magical and ancient land. Without realizing it, we have been living here for 12 years.
Initially, we settled in the holy city of Varanasi in northern India, living by the Ganges River while accompanying our children through their education. During this period, our entire family gained deeper insights into life. Later, due to our children’s school transfer, we moved south to Pondicherry. A seemingly coincidental yet seemingly destined opportunity led us into the City of Dawn—Auroville. From that moment, my life entered a new chapter.
Upon arriving in Auroville, the Joy Community invited me to serve as their qigong teacher—a field I am most skilled in and most passionate about. Since then, I have actively promoted traditional Chinese wellness wisdom in the community, including qigong classes, Tai Chi, modern hypnosis, Traditional Chinese Medicine wellness detox sessions, and facial gua sha and natural facial acupuncture healing workshops, among other natural therapies.
Whenever I see students become more physically balanced, emotionally stable, and internally peaceful after practicing qigong, I feel a deep sense of comfort in my heart. This is a kind of “resonance” from the source of life itself, as if my years of learning and cultivation are quietly taking root and sprouting in others.
Before leaving China, my Tai Chi master Zhang Guangping—a lineage holder of the Wudang Purple Cloud School—lovingly reminded me: “Teaching and learning enhance each other; don’t forget the transmission.” And my modern hypnosis mentor, Dr. Steven Gilligan, often reminds us: “Hypnosis is an art of living, and its wisdom should flow in daily consciousness, endlessly.” These teachings have long been deeply rooted in my blood. Now in Auroville, I have found a place where I can truly practice them—a platform where I can share Traditional Chinese Medicine qigong, hypnotic arts, and natural healing wisdom with people from all over the world who have this affinity.
In the future, I hope to continue expanding this work, allowing people from different countries and cultural backgrounds to explore together without borders: how to awaken the natural wisdom within our bodies and consciousness, enhance health awareness, and experience true joy and freedom in self-healing. I believe that everyone possesses the ability for self-healing and has the opportunity to live a joyful, healthy, and happy life. This is precisely the mission and direction I am willing to dedicate my life to continuously.
Here, I would like to express my sincere gratitude. Thank you to India, this great land full of wisdom and tolerance, for allowing me to take root and grow; special thanks to the City of Dawn—this high-dimensional energy field that makes seemingly distant dreams come true and makes life a real spiritual practice.
I have always believed: Life is not about reaching a certain destination, but about living in the present moment again and again, learning, exploring, and growing.
If we can live in the ever-flowing stream of consciousness, feeling the changes and elevation of each present moment, then this journey itself is the most beautiful resonance.
As I have always believed: “Life is not a finite arrival, but an infinite completion.”
